Kankakee County Branch NAACP Youth Council

The Kankakee County Branch of the NAACP believes strongly that future leaders must be developed today, and such development must be ongoing in our effort to help our youth council succeed. The Kankakee Branch NAACP Youth Council objectives are to inspire, motivate and create interest in civic activities; provide young people with an understanding of pertinent issues; develop organizational skills for implementation of community related activities; and encourage our youth to participate in these activities.

NAACP Education Scholarship Fund

NAACP offers one $500 scholarship which is awarded to a high school student based on active membership in the NAACP and a 2.5 GPA or higher. For more information, contact Carol Franke at: cfranke@i-kan.org or the NAACP office at 815-932-0858.
