Collective Balance therapists are specially trained to work on issues specific to their age and developmental level. Children and adolescents need focus to be placed on their mental wellness earlier in life to provide better outcomes as they grow. Counseling support is also available to children with an autism diagnosis. Staff have received a specialized certification to offer grief counseling as well.

Collective Balance has counselors on-staff who are certified in DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy). Staff have received a specialized certification to offer grief counseling as well.

Marriage and Family Counseling

Family therapy is necessary to address family issues and heal a family's wounds. Family therapy can be used to address: Divorce, Parent-child conflict, Problems between siblings, Domestic violence, Unexpected or traumatic loss of a family member, and more. Studies show that family therapy is particularly important for families with members who struggle with substance abuse, eating disorders and other behavioral issues. When the whole family grows, each member is better off. Collective Balance has therapists on-staff who are receiving certifications in Gottman Couples Therapy.

Trauma Counseling

Research has proven psychotherapy to be the most effective form of treatment for trauma. Most commonly, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and body-based interventions such as art therapy and somatic experiencing are used in treating trauma. You may want to see counseling if you are experiencing: Anxiety, depression, numbness, or guilt (Avoidance symptoms); intrusive thoughts, nightmares or flashbacks (Re-experiencing Symptoms); Anger, irritability, hypervigilance, aggressive, reckless behavior, including self-harm, or sleep disturbances (Hyperarousal Symptoms); OR Loss of interest in activities that were once considered enjoyable, difficulty remembering details of the distressing event, and change in habits or behavior since the trauma (Negative Mood and Cognition Symptoms).
